Epilepsy - Medications That Shouldn’t Be Used for Seizures

The following drugs can ease the seizure and prolong the seizure duration by lowering the seizure threshold, but they can be used by taking the necessary precautions when your doctor must be used absolutely.

Bronchodilators

Ventolin (nebula is safer, but beware of overdose)

Brycanil

Antihistamines (new generation antihistamines can be used more safely)

Avil amp (Can be used in hospital conditions), (clemastine –tavegyl; can be used safely.

Antibiotics

Intoxication symptoms may occur in patients using the macrolide group (erythromycin, azithromycin, macrol, klacid), especially carbamazepine-tegretol, carbalex, due to an increase in the dose of the drug in the blood.
